Camera Feature Now Presents Great New Options for Biometric Solutions!

Available on TouchProESS

The camera now allows you, when you desire biometric solutions, to uniquely choose whether to be very aggressive or to seek fast passive biometric solutions… eliminating issues you could experience with rejection rates in various biometric devices without a camera. Here’s a list of ways you can implement the camera starting from the most aggressive, and ending with a passive least invasive biometric solution.

  1. Camera Use with Fingerprint and Card Reader of Choice or PIN (most invasive/most ): In this environment you can set the clock to prompt employees whose fingerprints are rejected for whatever reason to stand in front of the clock, see their picture on the clock and touch a button to take the picture (or wait for the countdown to snap the picture). Within the timecard screen in TimeTrak, supervisors will be able to see that the Fingerprint failed, and that an ICON is in the PHOTO column which they can click on and see if the employee was indeed standing in front of the clock when they punched.  Additionally, they can compare the photo to the employees original photo captured during initial enrollment.
  2. Camera Use with Fingerprint & Camera and Card Reader of Choice or PINder of Choice or PIN (Less invasive/less time): Much like above; just less invasive and less time consuming -- you can set the clock to just snap a picture of whoever is standing in front of the clock when their fingerprint is rejected. The clock can be set to display the picture captured on the screen of the clock, or to not display the picture captured.
  3. Camera and Card Reader of Choice or PIN / NO Fingerprint (Less Invasive): This is a passive biometric process. Benefits include no need to enroll fingerprints, no need to handle distribution of fingerprints to multiple clocks, no rejection issues to deal with, yet if a supervisor wants to assure that the employee was at the clock to punch themselves in – the supervisor can pull up the picture and see who was in front of the clock at the time of the punch. The goal of biometrics is to keep employees honest and to eliminate or severely cut back on buddy punching. In a more invasive aggressive use of the camera here, an employee can be required to look at their picture on the screen and touch the button when they see themselves in the picture, or wait for the countdown to take the picture.
  4. Camera and Card Reader of Choice or PIN / NO Fingerprint (Least Invasive/Least time Consuming): Once again a passive biometric process. Same benefits, just that now the camera can be set to automatically snap a picture when someone punches and show the picture on the clock screen, or in a stealth mode it can be set not to show the picture – eliminating employees from standing in front of the clock checking the picture out, or even complaining their pictures are being taken. And once again, your supervisors can see who was standing in front of the clock when the punch occurred.
